Brilliant little devil, came right up to mikes foot while the photos were being taken. No fear at all.

Have done some searching and i reckon it was a Bank Vole. Right size, shape and tail.

Very cute whatever.

Sandy sent me an email with a link to a website with photos and information about bank voles and yes, I agree, I'm fairly certain this wee fella was a bank vole.

We saw a beautiful hawk today too, but luckily it didn't see the vole
