Our rivers down here in Hants generally open on Apr 14. However, flooded water meadows and a high water table mean any further rain makes them act like spate rivers and any fall in levels will be extremely slow. Some of the banks have been underwater since before Christmas and thus are very soft and dangerous. It is more than likely many beats will delay their opening. The pictures below show the upper Test where the bank on the left side has been underwater for more than 4 months and the other is a fishing hut on the Anton somewhat marooned.
