General mash-up using teal feathers
« on: 26/09/2023 at 16:14 »
So quite a few years ago i used to buy quite a few 'fancy' things from the Canadian tube fly company. One of my purchases was a lot of different colours of teal flank feathers ( amongst other things !)

As with most things i never really used them so thought it was about time. I'm therefore planning a series of flies using the teal as hackles and also as coloured wings.

As blue is a favourite colour at the moment here is a 'mash-up' of different flies

Plenty of movement in those flies; very nice.

Smaller teal feathers make for nice cloaking hackles. Like in the Gosling style, but not tied quite so long if you know what I mean.
