I'll need to make a more concerted effort to get out after grayling this year.

Tied up a little something the Trout next year:

A real shame. Looks like the water is fairly weeded up as well.

where are all the trees ? were they all blown down in the storm a few years back or were they chopped down ?
A lot came down in the big storm ( photo below - storm Arwen 2022? ) and have been cleared since then.

The main hut is barely visible under the fallen trees, but you can still see the one on the left built by one of the later managers.

My heart wanted me to roll up my sleeves and tidy up, but it's not my place to do so ..... Nature will prevail and sort it all out.

Interesting.

I used to be one of the syndicate rods on Ardhuncart when i lived in the 'shire

An amazing bit of river and i had some amazing times there.

Now people will correct me if i am wrong but i think that the estate was sold ( quite a few years ago now I guess) and the new owners then didn't renew the syndicate lease so therefore stopped any fishing ? I don't know if that happened?

Had some great salmon and trout catches on that stretch back in the day - also saw the biggest brown trout i have ever seen....

When the salmon arrived in number in the end of May it was a lovely place to spend an evening

Some interesting work at Ardhuncart. Be interesting to hear how they are funding it. Hopefully they are chasing cash handouts like the Dee.
