Barrio Trout Reels

A beautiful 3.25 inch fly reel machined from bar stock alloy, hard anodised for maximum protection and with a heavily vented spool for improved line drying. At 128 gms, this fly reel is light enough to feel good on our 3wt fly rods, yet it has the capacity to hold a WF7 fly line comfortably.

The Barrio Trout fly reel is custom built for us by Vosseler Reels in Germany. A modern lightweight design offering generous fly line capacity, this high quality machined alloy fly reel is simple, reliable and strong.

Our current edition fly reel is available in silver and black and features our spider graphic on the spool

We have been offering these fly reels for a number of years now, in various colours and custom designs. A spool from our first edition fly reel will fit our latest edition perfectly, a sign of first class engineering.

The subtle clicking friction system is there to prevent over-run of the spool, the reel has been designed so that the angler controls the braking by applying pressure on the rim with the palm of their hand, very simple and what most of us do in real time fly fishing.

Our current edition fly reel is available in silver with a wooden handle, or black with a black handle and the spools have our spider graphic engraved in the centre. With their lovely traditional looks and their superb quality, these fly reels really do offer great value for money!

Our fly reel was reviewed in Fly Fishing & Fly Tying magazine
